HP Pavilion g7-1316dx Notebook
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hard drive was fried so I got a new one. I have 3 system recovery disks and 1 supplemental.

After purchasing a WD Laptop 500gb hard drive, I put it in my computer easily and began to start the system recovery.

Unfortunetly, when I turned on my computer, my screen is stuck at "Press The ESC Key for Startup Menu"

Literally nothing works. Not sure what to do at this point.

@Jester_07  Doesn't happen often , but it is not unheard of to receive a dead on arrival hdd.

Have you rechecked connection to be sure the hdd is securely plugged in?

Unplug the hdd and try to power on-can you enter BIOS by tapping F10 at Esc? If so that seems to indicate a problem with the hdd or connection.
