Hi,

The key is in the BIOS of your machine, please use the following tool to get it:

   http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

When run this tool, it produces a report, scroll down to Software Management section. Windows 8, 8.1 or 10  product key is in there.

You can also use the following tool to find out:

  https://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/

Note: You don't need product key, it will activate automatically.

Regards,

Hello @Vinee

Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome onboard!

This PC originally comes with Windows 10 Home edition - OEM original license supplied by HP.

So, if you install additional or different Windows, you need to provide your own license.

In cases like yours, the official procedure is to use HP Recovery media to restore back the computer (Windows, software, drivers, etc...)  to factory default condition. This one will also activate your Windows.

You can contact HP support or local authorized HP partners to see if they can offer you original recovery media for this computer (a.k.a. recovery DVDs or USB).

Here is how you can contact HP :

Option 2) If there is no recovery media at HP, you can try to contact

http://www.best2serve.com/page/rcd_landing   OR   http://www.computersurgeons.com/

to see if they can offer you such recovery media

Once you receive the media, here are the instructions you need to follow to boot from it and install Windows and others >> http://hp.dezide.com/ts/start.jsp?guide=HPSystemRecovery.net&section=ccweb&SFS=tdoc&language=english...

Hope this helps. Let me know if you face difficulties.
