Product: HP Notebook - 15-ac178tx
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I reset my PC recently(around 2 months before), after some days i started to get a "Activate Windows" pop up frequently. I ignored it and now the pop up is not coming but Activate Windows is showing up on the bottom right of my laptop screen
It looks as though i have installed the OS without the license key
I bought this laptop last year only and now it says activate Windows
Please help!!!

Please, clarify:

- Ever since you purchased your PC did you perform some sort of changes/upgrades of the hardware parts ?

- What you did, how exactly you perform the reset ?

 

 

Please, check the official HP article about Windows 10 activation issues >> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04640037

Read it all but try with "Other ways to activate Windows 10" / call MS telephone activation service /  or check "Troubleshooting Windows 10 activation errors"

No i didn't change any hardware parts
My laptop had been affected with virus and later i got the BLUE SCREEN

that's when i reset my laptop
When i go to settings>Update & Security> Activation
it is taking too much time to load it
what might be the problem?

It might be trying to activate at that particular moment or it might try to search for your activation status. Because of some issue, it cannot get your PC's activation status. I guess this is the reason for this delay.

 

Please, check the article above (post above) and try the other activation method (telephone activation / slui 4) or the troubleshooting articles.

The Activation Tab opened in the settings and it says
"Windows can't activate right now. Try activating Windows later. If that doesn't worlk, contact your system administrator. Error code: 0xC004F074"
what should i do now?
