HP Pavillion Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop has been updated to windows 10 and all of my files have been lost and my latop is asking for my local account password when trying to locate my old files. I did not have a local password before the update but I cannot do anything without entering my local hp user password and as far as I am concerned I have never set one up. Can you please help as I have lost ALL of my family/wedding photos (1000's) as well as all of my university work. Many thanks.

Hi,

Try to boot into LiveCD, try to gain access to drive and copy all your files to external media:

Else, take out the hard drive from its bay. Connect it to another PC using SATA to USB adapter. Copy the files you need using Windows explorer.
