My son tried powering on my laptop and was pressing the power button numerous times, and now when powering on my laptop it says,  “Preparing Automatic Repair.” And then goes to a blue screen that says, “Recovery” “there was a problem connecting a device to your pc”

Run diagnostics to ensure disk is OK

Tap the ESC key after powering on and press F2 to run diagnostics.

try the SFC first and if that gives a message that it cannot fix the problem then try the DISM tool
