My Windows Media Player somehow disappeared from my notebook. The HP-1000 refuses to play any DVD and no symbol appears. How can I restore the Media Player? When I search for apps, it says that the Media Player has been loaded into my PC. Confused; please help !

FYI Windows 10 no longer has WMP or DVD playback option that is a $15 app you must buy through MS Apps store to get that option again.

Hi,
Your machine should have CyberLink but if you wish to use WMP, please download from the following link and install to your machine:

What a rip-off; I purposely bought a laptop which included a DVD player; I would have got an Apple which has no DVD slot. Are you saying that MS users must purchase a CyberLink subscription otherwise their DVD player is useless? New notebook owners using MS today also must buy a subscription to CyberLink or their DVDs won't play? This is news to me. Windows Media Player was one of the features that brought me to this notebook.
