Hi,
Shut down the notebook.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to enter the Start-up Menu. Select the Diagnostic Menu option ( f2 ) and run the tests on the Hard Drive.
Post back with the results including any error codes that may be generated.
Regards,
DP-K

Hi DavidPK,
I face the same issue, but in my case on pressing F9, I go back to the error screen. The boot options do not display.
Also on pressing F10 or F11, it goes back to the same error screen. My laptop is an hp envy dv6. I recently replaced the hard drive and it was working fin until tonight.
I was watching a movie and the battery run out, before I could plug in the power, the machine hibernated and when I pressed the power button, this issue happened.
Please advise how to recover.
