Envy M6 k022dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Recently got a black screen while trying to boot. I ran the system diagnostic tool from the boot menu and my hdd failed the test. I want to replace the hdd with a ssd specifically a Samsung 850 Evo but I don't know how to get my OS on to the SSD. I don't have any registration codes from Windows 10. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do have access to another computer and ordered a transfer cable from Amazon.

Hi,

You could either perform recovery using recovery media you should've created after first setup of this laptop,
http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03489643

You may have to order recovery USB from HP if you've not created one.

or do a clean install of Windows 10 64 bit if you've already upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1 to 10 and activated it successfully before HDD crashed.

Windows 10 will get automatically activated after installation in SSD.

Unfortunately I do not have the recovery media, and I would prefer to do a clean install anyway. With the additional drivers from hp do those need to be moved to the SSD as well or can I install them after I have my OS running? I really appreciate the help.

You can install it after OS installation. But download, save it to another USB.
