Please Help !! I can't disable the stupid Synaptics Clickpad. Everytime I try to use my laptop everytime I touch the touchpad it's making the dispaly larger and smaller. My wife and I both have Pavilions and it's driving us both crazy.
I disable the Multifinger gestures, apply it and the next time I open the laptop cover it's enabled again. I tried deleting the current Profile and saving it but that doesn't healp either.
How do I stop this thing from turning itself on???

I found that having read every question and reply in this chain (and a few others going back a few years), that nothing worked for me. No sign of any of the options and tapping the white dot did not turn it orange. Eventually though with some help I realised that for my hp zbook 14 the touchpad was working without the device driver installed. Installing the driver made all the options available that I'd not found before and tapping the white dot worked (had to reboot a few times after but all good now). So sometimes things work without drivers and so you cannot disable what is not there.
