Hi,

1.  Just to be sure, double check the halt code (64680447) is correct.

2.  If the halt code is correct, shutdown the notebook, remove the hard drive, start-up and try entering the code again, preferably via an external keyboard.

Regards,

Hi,

In that case, try the following.

1.  Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Plug in the AC Adapter ( leave the battery out for the moment ), start the notebook and try entering the code again.

2.  Try entering the code via an external usb keyboard.

 Yeeeeeeeeeahhhhhhhhhhh!

First and much important was first step - "double check the halt code (64680447) is correct"

Really code was 64680477, not 64680447.

perhaps it's time to go home and sleep.

 Thank for your assistance,
