Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I am using hp 15-n205tx laptop with windows 8.1 64bit  pre installed now i need to re install the windows with additional partition it only having one c volume right now os and all other content are stored in one volume
so I need to us it as 2 volumes one for my data and one for the os how do i do it please give me the procedure

Hi @vipinuly,

 

As I understood, you want to create one additional partition on the unit.

 

If you are using Hp Provided OEM OS image, it doesn't allow you to create partition while installing OS.  But you may add partition after OS installation, but this is not recommended by hp. 

 

You can only create Physical partition or volume with Retail OS image.

NOTE: With hp OEM OS image, Performing Recovery on the unit, will wipe out all the created partition and the data as well on those. Hence It is always suggested to take data backup before performing Recovery on the unit.

As I understood, you want to create one additional partition on the unit.

thanks for your replay but i have one doubt  if i create  another partition on the os installed drive  will it lose my os ?

because i created a partition like that on my old laptop before but after that the os were lost and it needed to flash the os again 

?

You have to shrink the OS drive and then create New Simple Volume. You may refer to below link for reference.
