How can I get the product key if my HDD is busted

Hi:

The product key is embedded in the BIOS.

No more product key stickers for any Windows operating system beyond W7.

Hi, you do not need product key. You can download winows 8.1 from Microsoft using the media creation tool to create a bootable pendrive or download iso to create disk. Make sure to download same version (language; single language; 32-bit or 64-bit) and edition which was preinstalled on your PC when new.

Afterwards you can install windows 8.1 on your system without product key. It will be automatically activated. You will need to change boot order in Bios to boot from pendrive.

Let me know if you need further help,

David
