Machine: HP Pavilion dm-4 1173cl

Problem: "SYSTEM DISABLED 69112228"

1.) Had boot password enabled.

2.) Upon bootup, got message to enter bootup password ("Enter Administrator Password or Power On Password")

3.) Took 3 tries (keyboard not responding correctly) to type 8 digit bootup password

4.) When I typed in bootup password, I got the message "SYSTEM DISABLED 69112228"

Now . . (several days later) when I boot the laptop, I get a blue message screen saying:

"Enter Administrator Password or Power On Password" - but now the keyboard will not allow me to enter the bootup password.

Can ANYONE help please?!?

SOS!

Hi

The only option is to disconnect the CMOS/RTC battery from the unit and wait for 15mintues then insert it back on again and check. Link given below for reference check 46 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures

Manjunath, you are most Godlike, indeed!!!
THANK YOU so much!

It may not be easy to fully comprehend, but you quite possibly did literally just save my life.

I am in your debt. Thanks for the quick response.

This is no joke, you quite literally may have just saved my life!

Thanks Cheryl, but it was locking me out of the keyboard with virus-emulating behavior.
Time for diagnostics & some deep scans.

Cheers,

I can at least get to bios with the first but when I get there it still asks for a password and gives me system disabled 04132 after a few tries of either.
