Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just bought a brand new HP Y018 laptop this afternoon, still in the box.  Should I do the W10 anniversary update and then create the recovery media or should I do the recovery media creation first, then the anniversary update?

Hi,

Depending on which software you are using to create the media. HP Recovery Manager will create a set of Recovery media (DVD's) or USB which allows you to go back to Factory settings therefore you can do before or after W10 Anniversary update.

Regards.

humm...

Does it matter? I think (i am not sure) that  the recovery media creation tool always take a replica of the recovery partition (D). This partition always stays intact even if you apply the anniversary update.

Hope that i helped 🙂
