Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Windows 7 logo comes up but it won't open.  It goes to a different blue screen with and enlarged cursor.  Windows 7 came installted on laptop and i have no recovery disks.

Have you tried tapping away at F11 key immediately after powering on to boot into Recovery partition?

You might also consider making your Recovery Media if/when you get Windows up and running.
Creating Recovery Media >> Windows 7

Thank you for response.  F11, i assume with out using the fn key, didn't get me to the system recovery page.  I'm using another computer at present.

F11, however, did give my the 'setup utility' screen.  I'm running a 'Primary Hard Disk Self Test' now.

If and when,  I will certaintly create a recovery disk.
