Laptop model Spectre XT Ultrabook 15-4013cl, product no. C2M72UA - Came with Windows 8, upgraded to 8.1. The operating system would not load no matter what I tried with an error code of 0xc0000034, so I did a complete recovery to the as new condition using the thumb drive that I had made from the original Win 8 software. It took 3 times before the recovery completed, and now I get the following window as soon as I startup the machine:
and if I click on TDC-SDV, this screen comes up:
If I click on the windows 8.1 box, the operating systems opens as normal and works fine.
This did not come up when the machine was new. Why is this coming up and how do I get rid of it and startup directly to the windows 8.1 operating system?

I should probably just sum up the steps in his post:
11. Go to windows, run command prompt and type "msconfig" at the command prompt
12. in msconfig, click on the "boot" tab and remove the TDC SDV boot option, that is the failed Factory RESET operation
13. Reboot your laptop and you will not see any startup option, it should boot straight into Windows 8
