I received a message on my computer that my intel hm55 express chipset lpc interface controller 3b09 driver was out of date and I need to download a new drive 2013-7-25.  Current Driver is: 2006-06-21

I am not sure if this is necessary or not.   I have an HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC 64-bit Operating System.

I have been having problems with it shutting down and rebooting in the middle of what I may be doing and I have to hit CTRL-S very often to save what I am working on before it Crashes.   Sometimes 2-3 times a day.   I do not think that it is overheating, because it is on a fan pad.

Is this part of the problem or is there something else going on.   This is my personal work computer and I cannot afford to lose what is on it.

Please advise.........

Hi:

If you want to update the drivers you can install this chipset driver and it should update all the system devices to the latest version.
