Another Partition windows 7 [ Edited ]

Hiii all,

I just bought a new hp laptop. It's " Hp pavilion dv7-4071nr 64-bits " and it's only 3 partions (C:/) , Recovery (D:/) and HP_TOOLS(E:/) but I need another partions to save my own files, so if the (C:/) has any problem I can get to my own files safely.

Is there any way of having a new partition, not related to (C:/) and without formatting my laptop or losing the other recovery partitions. I hope someone can help me with that.

If you use Disk Management there are 4 partitions, one is hidden from explorer, 4 partitions is the maximum in Windows, you would have to delete the Recovery or Tools partition, then add that space to the C partition, then slice off part of C for the new 4th partition.

There is no real advantage in doing this and you would lose access to recovery and tools partiions.
