Bluescreen while installing WindowsXP on my Touchsmart TX2

Hey guys.

l'm trying to install Windows XP on my new HP Touchsmart TX2, but everytime l start setup, the Tx2 quits with a bluescreen while loading drivers. l tried with several discs, even one created with nLite and SATA drivers included but nothing worked.

Has anyone else this problem?

Yes, we have seen many posters struggle with newer models with AMD. Are you using this from the General XP Downgrade Guide?

Extract sp40046 to a folder and use files in RAID7xx folder

Important Notes:

1. In Nlite, choose the option of insert -> multiple driver folder
2. Select ONLY x86 driver for AMD SATA AHCI when asked.
3. Never choose x64 driver when asked

I found several threads, where users mentioned the problem, that WindowsXP can't find any harddrive.

I followed the Guide and created a new setup cd with nLite.

That didn't change anything

Write down Your p/n number which is under Your computer and looks like this.

You've got a problem with Sata drivers. This code give us exactly this information.

With Your p/n number we will solve this problem.

@Nightmare,

You need to slipstream Your Sata drivers (only x86 drivers) with nLite.

Here are Sata drivers  for You. Just unrar this drivers with Winrar. (This drivers are different then this which Cheryl gave You.)

Here You will find *.doc file with guide how to slipstream this Sata driver with WinXP. (You will need to open this Microsoft Office).

Here You will find *.pdf file with the same guide. (You will need to open this Acrobat Reader. Download link to this program here. Choose Your system there and Your language.).

Be sure also that You are using at least WinXP SP2 version. If you haven't got SP2 version here you can download this service pack and here You've got guide how to slipstream this file with XP written by nLite.

In nLite You can even burn Your new XP CD with those changes.

I hope then this will solve Your problem.
