Re: Boot-MGR missing again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you using win vista, you do:

start > programs > recovery manager > Advanced options >check "system recovery" or "Microsoft system restore" ( because i don't remember. I got this err and repair it that way) and press next.

good luck!

Re: Boot-MGR missing again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am replacing the HDD. Therefore I have no operating system. Hence the recovery. I only have one HP a6000n. Where is the BOOTMGR located at? I do have several other PC's.

Re: Boot-MGR missing again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi HvyMetal

I'm trying to do a clean install. Got a copy of a Vista 64 home preimum. It opens up with my original partition and asks if I want to keep or change that partition. I chose keep one time and I got a BSOD crash. The seconf time I tried to format with the same result. In both cases I get to the stage of copying files before the system crash with the BSOD and the following error:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

STOP: 0*0000000A (0*00000000000E0084, 0*0000000000000002, 0*0000000000000001, 0*FFFFF800098E7135)

May be I need to do a new format. Any Idea?

Re: Boot-MGR missing again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm using the laptop to write this message. It's been 12 hrs without a BSOD the longest ever without a crash. Fingers crossed.

The only thing missing from my new stable system is the free software bundles offered by hp (MS Works, Cyberlink DVD suite and the like. No regret for now.

Still waiting for the hp original recovery cds sometime this week. Hopefully I can install the budles from them.

Thanks to every body who helped and good luck to every one else. EmotionsEmotionsEmotions

Re: Boot-MGR missing again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If u recieve boot mgr and you can still acess the recovery manager from f11 not from the disc.from recovery manager go to advanced options and select system check up hit next then select open comand prompt and then in the command prompt type "bootrec /fixboot ".i seen that work for alot of people with this problom.Be sure to test the hdd to make sure it is not a bad hdd
