HI,

HP doesnot recommed you to install Operating System other then the one shipped with your Notebook, however you can install XP Operating System on your Notebook.

Your Notebook was specially designed for Vista and installing XP on it, most of the preinstalled application and feature on your Notebook may or may not work.

And also getting the exact XP Driver for your Notebook is difficult, however we can provide you the most compatiable Driver for XP, based on your Notebook Specification.

Please let me know the processor you are using AMD or Intel?

thanks for the replies but my model has different specs anyway i think i am getting closer as i searched a lot yesterday

Yes, I noticed the different, CQ60-116EE uses intel chipset. However most of Cheryl posted link would works except for chipset and video drivers.

The rest of drivers may works.

Try the folowing drivers:

1. Intel Chipset, (install and reboot before other drivers), here

2. Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family Graphics (with HDMI audio driver), here

NOTE: Install MS-UAA first before Intel Video driver, here

or if you had Nvidia 9200, you may use that posted link.
