Driver Updates

I am having a problem with the connection to an external hard drive using the eSATA connection on my notebook (dv4-2170US).  I wish to update the following drivers to see if that resolves the problem: Intel chipset driver, MEI driver, TurboBoost Technology driver.  My notebook has an I5-540M processor and the HM55 chipset.  All of the drivers available for the dv4 are very old.  There are much newer drivers available for the dm4t notebook series, which has the same processor (I5-540M) and chipset (HM55).  It seems that if the processor and chipset are the same, I should be able to use the dm4t drivers in my dv4.  Any thoughts or suggestions about doing this?  Thanks!

Here is the latest chipset driver from Intel, install first and reboot.

Here is the Latest Intel Matrix Storage manager driver, includes a subset of AHCI drivers also.

 

AHCI

 

These two drivers directly affect eSata

 

 

 

MEI, and Turbo boost driver are not necessary to update
