HP 8760w validity scanner doesnt work

Hello, I recently was given a HP EliteBook 8760w from my college and cant get the validity sensor (Biometric scanner) to work.         I have Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit, Intel core i5 2450m CPU, 8GB of RAM.

I have tried to install the drivers on HP's site after deleting the old drive; the only option for my problem.

I've looked all around and everyone seems to have the same problem, as well as no answer!!!

I am so pissed because I've tried everything (to my knowledge) to no avail. Please help. I'm pretty darn sure it came with Windows 7 so there cant be a conflict, right? I all for trying anything besides, dropping it, and sending it into HP to poke and praud whilst I have no PC for my college.... Not worth it

Also does this thing have a scroll feature built into the pad or am I to use those small arrows to scroll?

If Fingerprint device enabled in Bios?

have U installed?: fingerprint reader driver only? or all?

U need to fingerprint work:

HP security menager for Protect Tools

sometimes/depends of notebook - HP Credential Menager

In security menager U can define Ur credentials like fingerprints.

If  did that all and still it doesnt work only soft U can try more is leatest Bios version. If it wont help i think Ur fingerprint device can be damaged and needs to be replaced under warranty. Its Top cover part so whole top cover proably will be replaced.

I fixed it!!! Atleast for an 8760w EliteBook with Windows 7 Professional 64bit- Just download these 3 files in order (All HP dl's). Make sure to delete DigitalPass i.e.- (Digital Persona) because the first download isnt compatable with it for some reason. Just RUN all download's dont save them. The last is the Validity driver ver. 4.3.216.0
