I have encrypted a HP Elitebook 8440p Windows 7-64 bit using HP ProtectTools. I have saved my encryption key on a usb and everything seems to be working fine. The problem that I'm having is when I remove the hard drive from the notebook and connect it to a usb reader on another computer it reads the hard drive but tells me that it is unformatted. I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to extract the hard drive and read the files on it. If so, what software and/or settings do I need. Is it possible to extract the encrypted hard drive and read it? Any suggestions would be greatly apperciated.
Thanks
