Hp Dv6 Windows 7/windows XP cd issue

I bought this laptop back in late 09 with preinstalled windows 7. But now I want to restall win7 and when I was looking for the OS cd, I found that its a Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 cd. Will it still install windows 7? or XP? Little confused here.

Hi,

 

It sounds like it would install XP particularly if it's on a CD as Windows 7 would be on a DVD - usually several DVDs as they should have all the original software etc that came with the notebook.

 

You can order a replacement set of Recovery Discs on the link below - I believe there is a small delivery charge for this.
