Nope, Sadly it still gives me the same problem. I click to launch Simplepass and it starts to load database but after the loading screen it does not open the program! So i cant run simplepass 2011 or 2012 program. Any other ideas..?

P.S thanks for the previous post.

Also Windows gives an error aswell, something along the lines of this ----

C:\Users\Home\AppData\Local\Temp\WER1B20.tmp.hdmp

Re: Hp Simplepass Problem! *__<

Hi

The last option is to run a recovery on the unit but this will erase all the data on the unit. Please back up your data and run the Recovery steps given below might be handly for you.

Restore the PC to its original condition using the f11 key

Re: Hp Simplepass Problem! *__<

Hello there, I had a similar problem. After I updated BIOS a few months ago (because the system recommended so), my Simplepass stopped working. When I log on, it gives me passwork log on and Simplepass 2 options, however, if I choose Simple pass, my fingerprint reader does not blink. When I click on setting up fingerprint, it does not bring out anything. I tried to disable Validity Sensor in Device Manager, however, it didn't remove Simplepass option when I log on. When I put laptop to sleep, after I open it up, the default option is Simplepass. So I have to switch to password log on everything time. It gets annoying after 20 times.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I have Pavilion dv6-3030us 64bit Win 7 Home w/ i3 processor.

Re: Hp Simplepass Problem! *__<

I too am having a problem.  I just put in an OCZ 60g SSD as the primary hard drive and shifter the Hitachi 750 to the secondary slot.  I've managed to recover everything that I want except the finger print scanner.  Whenever I try to start it up I get an error saying there has been an error if the problem persists reinstall.  I've reinstalled by downloading from HP and from using the recovery manager.  I have a DV7-6c95dx,

Thanks

James

Re: Hp Simplepass Problem! *__<

Ok got half of it figured it.  There is a post on Authentech's website of someone else having this problem and the instructions there fixed 90% of the problem.  The simplepass app loades I can register fingerprints all that jazz.  What I can't seem to figure out is how to make it use the fingerprint to log into windows from boot like it used to.  (I'm thinking it need to start with the PC but there's no setting for that...I'll see what I can find and update if I figure it out.

Re: Hp Simplepass Problem! *__<

Ok, turned out to be fairly simple once you figure it out. Once you've stored your biometric data, reboot the laptop.
Wait for the laptop to finish cycling through the boot process BEFORE logging in.
Click the "Switch User" button and select "Fingerprint" from the list of users.
It takes an extra second or so on subsequent boots to switch from the default user ID to Fingerprint but it does work.
Hope this helps.
