Evening ladies and gents,
I installed a suggested update for my HP Pavilion dv6-1129tx Entertainment Notebook PC today (see details below). Against my better judgement I figured having the latest BIOS might be a good idea, even though my laptop was running fine as-is.
After updating to BIOS F.24 I now have the following issues:
1) When the display on the laptop turns off due to being idle 20 mins, it now doesn't come back on. If I press any keys to try and wake it up, it emits beeping from the internal speaker. As soon as I press power it turns straight off instantly.
2) I can no longer restart. The laptop shuts down normally, but when it tries to turn back on it powers up, but windows isn't loaded and it just hangs. I have to turn it off by holding down the power button then turn it on again.
I installed it just this afternoon, and I'm posting this just a couple of hours later, so I haven't had time to notice any other performance issues as a result of the update.
Long story short, does anyone know of or have the original BIOS for my notebook (sp43821)? Or has anyone had the same problem and got a solution?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, read this and try the procedure if you are willing to do it. You assume all of the risk just as you did when you flashed the BIOS.
Be advised that this is an advanced repair technique. You must follow the procudure verbatim if you want to have a chance of success.
Kudos! to CherylG for the awesome find.

Hi Erico,
Cheers mate that link was definitely the info I was after, but it turns out I didn't need to roll back the BIOS after all.
After i posted this message I noticed that my dvd drive was no longer being detected. This has happened before with previous computers so I went to regedit and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro
This got me thinking that maybe it wasn't the BIOS, it was my settings and drivers. Sure enough by manually downloading from my product page I noticed very slight differences in version numbers (previously I had been using the HP bundled software to detect and download updates, same software that suggested the BIOS update)
Anyway it worked, updating to latest display drivers fixed the hibernation and startup problem and a little editing in the registry re-detected my DVD drive.
That link is great though, I have a much better understanding of how BIOS works now.
Cheers.
