Re: Problems enabling Virtualization Technology in BIOS dv6

I think the Virtualization Technology option is available in the system configuration tab of your BIOS according to my knowledge. Here is the screenshot of the bios:

Re: Problems enabling Virtualization Technology in BIOS dv6

Thank you Vidya, but i've already went through the BIOS and the option to enable/disable VT wasnt there, is it the BIOS version the cause? i did a little search on the web and apperently that BIOS version F.06 dont have that option for security reasons.

Re: Problems enabling Virtualization Technology in BIOS dv6

hmm....if you system has the capability, it should be there in BIOS. If it is not there in F.06, I suggest you go back to F.05 and see if you have this option available. Here is the link:

Re: Problems enabling Virtualization Technology in BIOS dv6

I have the same issue.  I attempted to roll back to f.05, but the bios update fails (no error code or description).

I really stinks that i purchased a computer with a Vitualization compatible processor only to find that HP has disabled this feature in thier BIOS.

I too have the same notebook and the same problem..Now this is totally disgusting that you have the hardware which is capable of doing that and you are not allowed to that. We payed for this??

Hey people try to look for a hack or something..i don't think HP will do anything in this matter..

How to forward this issue to HP experts so that they get this issue resolved ASAP ??

I know it's not the best solution but Windows Virtual PC 2007 doesn't require VT enabled in the BIOS. It doesn't support linux officially but may work on it it..

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/support/virtual-pc-2007.aspx

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Virtual_PC

Other operating systems such as Linux may run, but are not officially supported, and Microsoft does not provide the necessary drivers (called "Virtual Machine Additions") for Linux.

Pavilion DV6-2060ea
HP Touchpad provided by HP
Currently on Sabayon Mate 11
