Hi RedBirdRed,
OK... As far as I can tell from the documentation, updating the Quick Launch driver should have been the fix for this particular issue.
I wish I had one of these units... there are a number of things that can go sideways when one upgrades from Vista to Windows 7 on any notebook (or anything else)... apparently the notebook-tablet has some extra places where one can get into trouble.
When in tablet mode, do you have Touch Screen? I would expect so... If yes, one of the options below may help.
I am guessing at this point, RedBird.
Options / Consider:
- Update the BIOS (if not already done). See your website.
- There is apparently a "tablet setting" somewhere in which you tell Vista / Windows 7 that your notebook is a "Tablet" and not a desktop. I do not know in what location you might find the setting for this. For one user, this "may have solved the rotation issue". (This setting was altered after the installation of the Quick Launch driver -sp46731.) I believe the "this is a tablet" setting may be something unique to tablet notebook systems. ?
- Less likely, perhaps worth consideration... This procedure might work IF the underlying result kicks something that has not been previously updated. Read this document and follow the instructions numbered 1-2-3.
Digitizer Pen and Touch Screen May Stop Working After Upgrading from Vista to Windows 7
- It is possible that the notebook just needs to be kicked, that is, Hard Reset.
Hard Reset:
Sometimes all you need to do is kick the computer. This method works for a variety of connection and ‘stuck’ program issues.
- Disconnect all external devices first.
- Remove AC power and the battery
- Press and hold power button for at least 30 seconds
- Reinstall only AC power for first startup ** See Note
- Power on - Log in
- Next time you shut down the system, reinstall battery.
** Note: If time is short, reinstall battery the first time and be done with it.

Let me know how you fare. Your website supports Win 7, therefore this should work: You are not in "foreign" territory here. At some point, it should straighten out.
Have you ever had to download install drivers from OUTSIDE HP or Windows 7 updates while you were on Vista?
Good Luck!
