Update Software & Ddriver

From the HP Total Care page I click the button to update Software & drivers and I get an error message that reads: Help and Support Center : HelpCtr.exe - Unable To Locate Component.  This application has failed to start because ISWUL.dll was not found.  Re - installing the application may fix this problem.

I don't know what application is being asked for.  All the updates for Windows and Microsoft are up to date.  I have 5 discs that were given to me at the time of the purchase of my laptop.

I would like to get the updates from HP for my laptop.  Is there any way to do this without booting my operating system back  a few years?

Use the button at top of this page,"Support & Drivers". Use your P/N from Service Tag on bottom of laptop as input.

I have been to the page listing all the drivers for my system.  I was hoping to be taken to a page that would detect my current drivers, select the ones that need updating and take over.

No such luck, rather I'm given a list of drivers for my system that I can choose to download.  Great.  My luck, if I start trying to download and install something like a drivers, all the springs will start popping out of my laptop and it will whistle toons to the lyrics of " I'm going South for the winter'.

What would be the correct term in the self help books where I can read up on doing this?

On the drivers page,you can click on each driver and go to a description page.If you see that it addresses a problem that you might be having,download and install it.Or,if it is listed as Critical on the page. Usually no springs pop out.

In self help books I would guess that it might be under a section for Updating/Upgrading software.
