Re: Windows7 Upgrade Guide for dv2000 models

Windows update win Windows 7 sometimes won't correctly recognize your hardware, which is likely to be Conexant High Definition Audio.

It will install the generic version "High Definition Audio" that doesn't work in most cases. If so, take a look at the solution I posted here:

http://seanxz.blogspot.com/2010/03/finally-windows-7-on-hp-dv2000-cto.html

It worked for me.

Peace~~~

Looks pretty high to me. I also have the dv2810us and my Temps are posted within this thread somewhere. Did it run that hot in Vista? Have you used a can of compressed air lately to clean all air vents and port openings?

Did you install Nvidia video driver from link or did you use one from Windows Update? I have read that the Nvidia modded drivers can cause heat. I opened Control Panel & ran Windows Update manually to install Nvidia Graphics from there.

Re: Windows7 Upgrade Guide for dv2000

Yes, uninstall Nvidia drivers. The open Control Panel, run Windows Update, choose to also see Optional Updates. There you should be offered Nvidia graphics.

Re: Windows7 Upgrade Guide for dv2000

In case you have problems uninstalling Nvidia graphics drivers, there is another guide for that:

Good luck and you are welcome!
