Windows 7 installation - error

Hi everyone,

I have decided to install a fresh copy of a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit edition. Once I have accepted terms of use and got two options - Upgrade or Custom Installation (advanced), I choose custom installation. Then all the hard drives should appear but the box is completely empty and at the bottom of the screen it says - No hard drive found. Click load driver to provide drivers. I don't know what is going on! I have done installation for 1000 times and nothing happen!

My laptop model is DV7-6030EW. Help me guys please.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Windows 7 installation - error

Can you please give a bit more details about why u are reinstalling windows?
Did u completely format your HDD or is it an upgrade?
because usually this happens when the drivers for the hard drive are missing. Mostly caused by system crashes or incomplete installation of windows (Power cut or battery down etc).

Re: Windows 7 installation - error

Well, my system got completely damaged and I could not launch it at all. I could not even boot Recovery Disk or Windows 7 DVD. All I could do was to boot Linux Live on DVD and formatted all my hard drives and created one partition in NTFS. It is completely RAW and there is no such as drivers. All I can do now is to launch BIOS, or begining of Windows 7 DVD and it asks for drivers. I know we can do it by copying drivers into USB, but I do not know what drivers I should download. Just about few minutes ago, I have tried to launch the Recovery Disk and it works, receovery is in process so I do not know if it will recover or some error will appear again.

I do not like HP Windows 7 version because it contains too many not useful applications, errors etc so I just want to install my RAW version of Windows 7 without any applications and configure it to my needs.

What can I do with that driver error?

Re: Windows 7 installation - error

Sorry for the late reply, but i hope you have solved your problems.

In case you still haven't been able to fix the problem, try changing the option in BIOS for your HDD to IDE. It will remove the need for drivers, and this works in many cases.
Though before that i'd recommend you to go through the site below and see if this works out.
