I recommend making a clone of your entire hard disk before installing a new OS. Otherwise some of the preinstalled software cannot be reinstalled.
What OS is the original and what will the new OS be?
What drivers do you have a need for?
How about identifying your notebook/pc with more than the series number. Look at the base/rear/side of the notebook/pc at the barcoded sticker. Post items numbered 1 and 2 on the following image.
Post the installed operating system version ( and whether it is 32 or 64-bit)
Best regards,
erico

All of the installers for drivers & software are in C:\SwSetup. Save them to dvd before installing new OS. All drivers and most software is also posted on your drivers page at HP. You can find your models page using the button_"Support & Drivers"_at top of this page.

hi,....
it me who ask the question before....
because of your annswer i found out all the drivers in that location C:swsetup and thats not all i also found the preinstalled software from it and copied to my thumdrive and reinstall it again after i have install my new os..it was really a big help..
and although i have a recovery partition id also a recovery disk with 4 dvd-r cds....good thing because now my recovery partition was touched by a nero autobackup that i accedentally turned on i think...and now my recovery partitions is emptied because nero autoback up export my recovery to my externeal drive, when i saw that it was my partition D: was exproted i emidietly canceled it and it was canceled, after that, the partitions size did not change but what change is that when you open the d: it should show a disk icon with a pink color, now it is only a folder with a size of 255MB....
After that ive tried to recover the lost data using nero also. and it was recovered but im not sure if it is complete..i save it to my external drive. All the recovered files from d: turned into bunch of files....after that since my partition d: is empty although it was showing 16GB used space i decided to delete it and finish it is finished.it is deletted..now im using my recovery partition kuno as a normal partion which i save my movies...just hope that the recovery dvd-r disk that i made before this incedent happen works when the time comes that i will be needing it.....

Hello,
I've recently purchased 3 HP Elitebook 8460p's from CDW. They were configured by CDW with Windows XP, unfortunatley CDW did not make a recovery partition for Windows 7 PRO which is supposed to be the native OS. I have reinstalled Windows 7 PRO 64 bit using the COA on the bottom of the laptop, my question is........Is there a way to download all the drivers without clicking through each individual one? I would like to create a driver disc for my clients and not spend an hour downloading all the drivers. Thank you!!1
