I start up my laptop and it directly goes to windows boot manager, it says
File: \windows\system32\winload.exe
Status: 0x000000f
Info: the selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.
I have tried using my recovery disk to reformat my laptop but when i use my disk it stops and says there is anoth error. When I use the hard drive to reformat my laptop it finishes in about 5 minutes and says that recovery was complete and when i restart the laptop again it goes back to the original problem. What is the problem and how would I got about fixing it?

It always helps if you give your operating system information, including whether it is 32 or 64-bit.

Hi,
Follow these instructions from Microsoft to use Startup repair for your Vista Operating system.
