Pavilion G6/XP mic is not working

Hi. I have HP Pavilion G6/XP and my built-in mic recently stopped working, although i didn't make any reinstallation on my notebook. External mic is working. HELP me please.

The microphone and the webcam are generally on the same circuit board on notebooks.

 

Does the webcam still function?

 

 

What is the product number?

NOTE: Do NOT provide the serial number.

 

 

I take it the system is using Windows XP based on the subject line.  Let me know if this is wrong. 

 

Go to Start>Control Panel>Sound and Recording Devices.  Select the Sound/Recording tab.  Does it recognize a line in/mic option for recording?

The webcam is functioning good.

 

G6 1182sr /  WINDOWS XP

 

Go to Start>Control Panel>Sound and Recording Devices.  Select the Sound/Recording tab.  Does it recognize a line in/mic option for recording?

- I have checked that. The line is: IDT Audio1. I cheked sound recording by the button below that line - it's not working.

 

PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi 86ers,

 

Looks like you are having an issue with your webcam and microphone. I can help but I will need some additional information. Are you getting any sort of error message? Any sound issues at all? If you use headphones do you still hear the sound? What is your product number? What operating system are you running?
