My laptop has crashed and I can't get it back. We have tried everything, I need to get a bootable disc for Compaq Presario CQ56-109WM

Hi,
Shut down the notebook. Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu. Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory. Post back with the details of any error messages.
Also post back with the full version of Windows that is installed on the notebook - ie Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

Hi,
You'll need to follow Pauls advice and order a set of Recovery Discs, however it also looks like your Hard Drive has failed and you will have to replace this before reinstalling the operating system.

The short DST failed is the indicator that your hard drive needs to be replaced.
