I have laptop HP 15-ac162ur with BIOS version F1.D. If I update the BIOS to the latest version, could I disable Intel HD graphics in BIOS.

Happy New Year to you! Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I read that you have an HP Notebook - 15-ac162ur and would like to know if you could disable the Intel HD graphics after updating the BIOS. I'd like to assist you with this case.

I do not think that even after updating the BIOS there is an option to disable the Intel HD graphics in BIOS. I see that your laptop is configured for switchable graphics, though. You may refer to this HP article with provides more specific information about switchable graphics: http://hp.care/2fRRK3d

Hope this helps. Feel free to let me know if you have any further questions. Cheers! 🙂

I know this. But in some cases I can't choose active GPU for applications. It's half-automatic. And it isn't working with old games.

Thank you for replying. 🙂

Did you check if the steps mentioned under Using Fixed Mode switchable graphics with default settings and Changing Fixed Mode switchable graphics default settings could be of some help?

Meanwhile, I try to disable the Intel HD graphics from device manager. Expand display adapter and in that if Intel HD graphics is listed then right-click on it and click on disable.

Let me know. Thanks again!
