Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums. I understand that you would like to know if the operating system is installed on the SSD or the HDD on computers that come with both these drives. I'll be glad to answer this for you. 

 

For most computers (laptops+desktops) the SSD is selected as the primary drive for boot and therefore the operating system is always installed on the SSD. Hope this answers your question. Feel free to let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers! 🙂
