14-AR003TU
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I recently bought an HP notebook (14 AR003TU) and installed WIndows 7 on it. Except CD drive, none of the interfaces work (USB, Ethernet, Wifi etc). When I searched drivers for this, the option lists only Windows 10. How can I get drivers for Windows 7?

Thanks,

Kalaivanan A

You're very welcome.

According to the parts list for your model it comes with a

Realtek RTL8723BE-VB 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combination WLAN adapter

You would need these wireless and BT drivers for that model card.

This package contains the driver installation package for the Realtek RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE wireless LAN Controller in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp79001-79500/sp79095.exe

This package contains the driver installation package for the Realtek bluetooth in the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp78501-79000/sp78623.exe

For the PCI Data ACquisition and Signaling Processing Controller, this is the driver you need.

This package contains the driver that enables the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework firmware. Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework provide system temperature and power utilization information for the system thermal protection to function properly. This package is provided for supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp75501-76000/sp75506.exe

For the PCI Simple Communications Controller, you need this driver...

This package provides the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The Intel Management Engine Interface enables communication between the host operating system and the Intel Management Engine firmware.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp75501-76000/sp75509.exe

There can be several devices named Unknown when the driver is missing.

Please post the hardware ID for the Unknown Device.

Hi:

You should be able to use the W7 x64 drivers and software from the 15t-ay000 on your notebook, except the BIOS and firmware files.

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-ay000-Notebook-PC-series/10862300

Your notebook uses the Realtek wireless, Realtek bluetooth and Realtek ethernet drivers listed on the support page.

You will also need this USB3 driver...

This package contains the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver for supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

Hi Paul_Tikkanen,

Thans for your suggestions. I am happy to see the LAN and USB are working in my machine now. I feel I came out from dark room 🙂

However, the WLAN and Blue tooth are not working.

The installed WLAN driver is there under the change adapter settings page, but not connecting to any of the available Wireless (Not listing the available wireless connections and it is showing "No Connections are available")

Also the bluetooth is not working (Not able to see it uder connections, even search results nothing)

I see the followings under otdher devices list in Device Manager.

  • PCI Data ACquisition and Signaling Processing Controller.
  • PCI Simple Communications Controller.
  • Unknown device

Am I missing something? Please suggest.

Hi Paul Tikkanen,

Thanks for your response and directions.

I tried installing the SP 79095 for the wlan but it did not completed successfully. And the wlan status remains same.

The same happened for blue tooth driver as well.

Only the PCI driver got installed successfully and there is no other device in the list.

Thanks,

When you go to the device manager and click to expand the Network Adapters device manager category, do you see the Realtek RTL8723BE-VB 802.11b/g/n wifi adapter listed there?

HP Recommended

Yes, I am able to see it.

Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter

Also attaching some screenshots taken from the device manager and the installation results .

As you can see in last screen, the trouble shooting says the wireless capability is turned off. Not sure where to turn on in this model. I don't even see any function key for Wi-Fi. Only the airplane mode is there.

According to your screen shot the wlan card should be working.

The F12 key with the airplane icon on it turns on the wireless and bluetooth.

Thank you very much Paul_Tikkanen. I am able to connect WLAN now.

This issue was with the crazy function key. I was trying with Fn + F12 key for turning on the wi-fi. But it is working only with the direct F12 key (Without the Fn Key) Not sure it is because of any key board driver mismatch / issue. Many of the function keys responding incorrectly. For example, if I pres the Volume decrease key, it stops the audio, the increase key decreases volume and so on.

Anyhow, my WLAN is started working. Thats a great achievement and I am happy to start using the laptop efficiently.

Appreciate the prompt and appropriate support throughout the issue resolution.

Thanks,

Kalaivanan A

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

Did you install the system event utility?

That allows the Fn keys to be programmed.

This package contains the HP System Event Utility, which enables special function keys on supported notebook models to be programmed. For example, HP System Event Utility enables users to press the Fn+ESC keys to view system information. This package is provided for supported models running a supported operating system.
