Does anyone know what to do?

That normaly means that there is an issue with the battery.
Remove the battery and plug in the power adapter.
Can you press the power button and boot to the Windows login screen now?
If you can, then you now know that battery has failed.

Try a hard reset as follows:
1) Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
2) Press and hold the power button for more than fifteen seconds.
3) Plug in the DC power adapter (leave the battery out for now)
4) Press the power button

I read somewhere it might have something to do with a bios chip (or something like that). It has been off for 3 months!

Does the led flash for a number of times and then repeat the cycle?
If it flashes eight times, the issue is likely to be the systemboard.

Is your notebook still in warranty?
Check your warranty status Here.
The issue you have described is most likely to be a systemboard failure. The systemboard would need to be replaced with a new one.

I have the exact same problem. The laptop has not been used for a while and now does not turn on. The power button and Capslok are continuously blinking. I have tried your suggestion several times: taken out the battery, pressed the powerbutton for over 20 seconds, connected the AC, and then oressed power: doesn't work, the problem persists... I doubt that itt is a hardware issue, before it worked well. Ony thing that changed is that is hasn't been used for a while and the bateery is completely emptied in that period.
Can it be that the bios battery (if such thing still is used in nowadays laptops) is empty and the laptop simply doesn't know its configuration? How could that be solved?
Is not very pracical, that a laptop that is not used for a while can not be started anymore...
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Solved! At least for my case.
The small pin in the male plug (the one going into the laptop) of the ac adapter was bended and did not make good contact. After this pin was straightend the problem was over! Hope this works for others as well!!
Cheers,
