I discovered that when I try to open HP Support Assistant none of the buttons work, none of the icons do anything and I cannot even shut it back down. I figured I would try and re-install it but when I go to windows Program manager it is not in the list. I found HP Support Assistant Framework and I tried to uninstall that but it gives me the error message Uninstall failed. (HP Support Assistant Framework is required by HP Support Assistant. I just want to get rid of the Support Assistant, the Support Assistant Framework and the whole software suite as I never use it and I wish I had never installed it in the first place.

You can perhaps uninstall the HP Support Assistant from Apps and Features.
Start (Windows key) > All Apps > scroll down, Right-click on folder HP Help and Support >
Right-Click on HP Support Assistant > More > Uninstall
- Restart / Reboot your computer after the program uninstall completes
