Hello, I'd like to know if there is any way to map the right alt key to a videogame.

I play League of Legends among other games which, as a left-handed player- requires me to use my right hand on the keyboard. That is why I need to use the right Alt key, among others like right control, right shift, etc. However, as I load my game and try to change my control settings, mapping such buttons is impossible. I've also tried using Sharpkeys to make that Right Alt key behave like a left one, but it won't let me do so.

I believe this has to do with this button's action style. When I press Right Alt, it kind of "stays locked" or "pressed" until I press the next key, and I believe it is traduced as a "Alt + next key". I'd like to know if there's ANY way to remove such function, and make the Right Alt work as if I was pressing Left Alt, or at least any other button possible.

All I'd like to do is use said button on videogames. How can this be done?

Also, I have already tried changing from US keyboard to US interantional keyboard to even UK and Latin america ones, and nothing happened. Please help me! Solving this will allow me to play my games to my full extent, which is why I bought this incredibly expensive OMEN in the first place.

Thank you very much! Francisco

note: id also like to add that im not sure i this pc has the x32 or x64 version of windows 10. Im not really sure how to check it

No worries.

Try the League of Legend forum.

Most games, League of Legends included, give player the ability to change the default key bindings.

See the following Google search that I did where many people explain just how to do that.

For the future, be aware that the best place to get information on something in a game is to use the game's official forum or one of the unofficial forums.

Thank you for your answer. I am already aware that there is a way to remap key bindings in-game. The thing is, when I go to such place, and am prompted to "input key" so that it gets mapped, I press Right Alt, and no game at all will recognize said input. I can map pretty much any other key, but not Right Alt specifically. I really need this particular one.

As an example, I'll use League of Legends.

I'm left-handed, so instead of using Q W E R for abilities, D F for items and (Left Ctrl) (Left Alt) for communication, I use I O P { for abilities, J K for items and (!!Right Alt!!) (Right Ctrl) for communication.

The logic of this is to mirror the default right-handed bindings on to my left-handed layout. It is pretty much the only confortable way of fitting every vital button on to my left side of the keyboard (Spacebar is also very important)

I've done this comfortably for over a year. Now, that I chose to upgrade to this supposedly gaming laptop, I am unable to map the Right Alt button to any game, because it simply won't recognize it when said games prompt to input key binding.

I'm very thankful for your attention but I can't consider your answer as an accepted solution. I'd still like to mark this first answer as helpful as soon as I get my issue solved, is that possible?

League forum won't do. Already tried. They don't know how to solve the problem because it's not a game-wise problem, it's a PC function! Not even sharpkey detects the keypress. Only HP experts that know the OMEN rigs can help me solve this. Please!
