HP 15-f024wm notebook
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I don't have an sd card reader on my notebook but have used a usb card adaptor on it and it worked. I had to do a complete recovery, updates, and reload browsers and so on. HP spent hours helping me get the computer back to its normal running self... yet this issue remains and cant find what I need to make the usb-SD card reader work. Yes the usb port works as I use it for other things.  Not sure what I'm missing.

Hi,

Your machine DOES have card reader. Its specs:

       http://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c04420347

which shows:

External ports:

  • Multi-format digital media card reader for Secure Digital cards
  • 2 SuperSpeed USB 3.0
  • 1 Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0
  • 1 HDMI
  • 1 RJ-45 (LAN)
  • 1 Headphone-out/microphone-in combo jack

Its location:

      card_reader.png

All you need: download Realtek Card Reader Driver and install to your computer.

     http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp66501-67000/sp66959.exe

For your question: do all USB ports work ?

Regards.

Thank you. I did look a few times to try and find a reader port on here.  It wasnt until you showed me where and I took a flashlight to find it.

Thank you again. Your help is much appreciated.
