That product was OEM lincensed as WIN 8. The support page has NO list of WIN 7 drivers.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..

Thank You for your Assistance on this issue. I have solved the Wireless Issue but I really Need the

Ethernet Controller:  PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_182D103c. Once I have this, It would Solve my Problem and it would Make My Year  🙂  Yes the system came with a WIN 8 OS.......  Maybe there is an Ethernet Controller Driver for a WIN 8 that I can try?

Thank You for your time in advance.

Hi, Rob:

Download, unzip and run the setup.exe file from the link below...2nd driver on the list.

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTy...

The next time you need to install W7, you can use all of the W7 drivers and software from the dv6z-7000 on your model, except the BIOS and firmware files.

If you want, you can use the ethernet driver from that model too.

The PCI device needs the Realtek card reader driver, found under the storage drivers section on the below link.

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dv6-7000-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-serie...

I have zipped up and attached the smbus controller driver you need below.

Download and unzip the file to its folder.  Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

Go to the device manager and click on the smbus controller needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC.

Sometimes the ethernet driver will not install unless the smbus controller driver is installed first.
