HP Envy 17t
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Error message -- "Cyberlink Power Media Player does not support the playback of this media format"  This is a well known issue with HP with Windows 10.  HP document has procedure to uninstall that I have and download SoftPaq SP71924 and then it install it.  Knowing the problem and the fix to correct the problem, now how do I get the file from HP.  I can not do a search for it.  I continually need to re-enter my type of equipment, serial number, etc and never get anywhere in HP Support to get the file needed.  So just how is it that while knowing the file to get to correct HP's issue do I actually go about getting that actual file.  Seems HP goes out of their way to make it difficult to get file.

Hello @jslm

Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome!

Try this > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04816370
Found by searching in Google.

If this does not work, could you post your full product model and product number (PN) and I will try to search for the file that you need to. Here is how > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108

Additionally, have you considered installing the free and open source application VLC ? The best player in the world  (IMO) that support pretty much anything and can play almost anything > http://www.videolan.org

Hi, @jslm :

Here is the link to sp71924...

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71924.exe

Here is the link to the HP FTP site which has all the softpaq files since Mr. Hewlett and Mr. Packard worked out of their garage.  :generic:

Thanks for the help. I actually was at that site and printed the page of instructions. After that I could never get back there. HP kept putting me in a loop.  Your link got me there just fine.
