Pavilion g6-2200
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This may not be the place to ask about this, but I will anyway.

I have an HP Pavilion g6-2200 CTO notebook computer.

I got a phone call from a guy who said he was from Microsoft and that one of my e-mail addresses was being used in Europe for not nice activities. ( I don't remember the exact words )

Anyway, he read off a series of numbers and letters and wanted me to confirm whether it was the serial number to my HP computer.

I wrote the number down but got suspicious and hung up on him.

I just now checked what the serial number for my g6 is, using HP Support Assistant, and that guy has my g6 serial number!

Is there anything I can do?

Jeff

OK there is nothing you can do except relax. There is nothing he can do to harm you with the serial number.

You can't unring the bell, sorry. If it is not under warranty the serial number is not very useful, anyways.

I understand that I can't "unring the bell"; I'm just concerned about the fact this guy knew the serial number of my computer.
