and it said this about my CPU...
you have a 2.4Ghz and it is rated at 7.42 Ghz

Hi,
The following link shows the specs of your computer:
http://support.hp.com/hk-en/document/c05112067
It has an AMD Quad-Core A10-9600P (2.4 GHz, up to 3.3 GHz, 2 MB cache), which is rated 2.4GHz. It is a quad core (means 4) therefore I think the tool says it has 2.4 * 4 = 9.6 GHz but with muti -core factor it can only have 7.42GHz.
That is totally wrong, 2.4GHz is 2.4GHz, it can run up to 3.3GHz max as above.
Let me give an example: a car can normal run at 120 Kmh, it can run 165 Kmh but not for long period. Now you have 4 cars, they can't run 370 Kmh , they still can only run at 120 Kmh BUT they can deliver more.
Regards.

interesting, although I wouldn't be surprised if it could perform better than anything else in the last 2 years previously..AMD announced that The Bristol Ridge would be more efficient and such.I did watch their annual bencmark release video notes on the Bristol Ridge apu's..and was happy with their breakthroughs.not bad though.I like it.runs great.

Hi,
The above specs shows your machine uses DDR3L, not DDR4, physically won't fit and if fitted this won't work. You can only use:
Two non-customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots
DDR3L-1600 single channel support
DDR3L-1333 single channel support (DDR3L-1600 downgrade to DDR3L-1333)
Supports up to 16 GB of system RAM in the following configurations:
● 16384-MB total system memory (8192×2)[UMA models only]
● 12288-MB total system memory (8192×1) + (4096×1)
● 8192-MB total system memory (8192×1) or (4096×2)
● 6144-MB total system memory (4096×1) + (2048×1)
● 4096-MB total system memory (4096×1)
● 2048-MB total system memory (2048×1)
But note
(a) Two non-customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots
(b) Check page #2 of the following manual
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05087747.pdf
Your machine has A10 CPU.
Regards.

I want the same 4 GB stick of RAM in the slot of the 2 GB stick of RAM.
Which exact same stick do I need?
It says I have a samsung 4GB 1866MHz stick...in one and the other a 2 GB Hynix stick...making it 6 GB of RAm...see now?
I need help identifying the 4 GB stick so I can buy it.
I have used belarc Advisor and techspot gpu-z and cpu-z and they say I have DDR4....

I have a friend that told me the only way your going to identify your ram sticks and sort is to open up the laptop.
you cannot trust any third party sources other than the manufacturer.
When I bought this laptop from best buy on the 4th of july...the box had a hp and manufacturer labeled DDR4...
I know company's can get into trouble for mislabeling products.
Now I just want a simple answer identifying my two sticks what type are they, and what module designation are they and all the important info I need to go buy the other stick to replace the 2Gb one.
I just want really simple info and no hassle.
any help once you get accurate info from the online database would be appreciated...
