Hi, 

I am unable to play videos that I have transferred from my phone on my laptop (windows 8).  I have quick time installed but it will not play the videos. (I have an iPhone).

 

I assumed there would be something on the computer that would automatically play videos, but apparently not.

 

Therefore, I assume I must download something.  I read one rec. here, but it wanted to do other things to my computer, i.e change browser setting or I couldn't download, and I don't want that.

 

Can anyone recommend any program to download that is safe, and relatively user friendly?

 

Also, are there programs that can do simple editing?  I had a program on my old computer that would take photos and make them into a video, or could chop out parts of a video.  Simple stuff like that.
