Whenever and wherever I start typing, the cursor will jump to another line, page, word etc. Even when I hold my hands way above the keyboard and hit one key at a time. Whats going on?

Under Control Panel => Mouse there is a setting to Hide pointer while typing that you might try changing.  If that does not work you might reinstall all of the Intel chipset and touchpad drivers from the hp.com site.
