HP Spectre x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Using google chrome  browser for day 2 and I create a new tab (2nd one)

Then screen blacks out and I see a patch of dead pixels

Nothing opens up later on and when I do manage to open I see the dead pixels here as shown in the image I took over phone. It is in the exact center of the screen.

i took images with both light and dark backgrounds. It is really bright cyan colour with dark background

After restarting the PC it did disappear but I am now worried since it is just day 2.

Do I take it back to the purchase store ?As we have a 14 day window to return a defective product in Germany

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Apologize for the inconvenience caused. An outdated graphics driver can cause display issues, such as visible lines. Make sure the driver is up to date.
For more information, go to Updating Drivers and Software with Windows Update.

Perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant:

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
